Young Adult Therapy

Becoming an adult can feel harder than anyone told you it would be. If life hasn’t gone the way you expected, or you’re not sure what comes next, therapy can give you a place to sort it out and find your footing.

Does This Sound Familiar?

  • Life hasn’t matched the expectations you had for this stage.
  • Friendships are hard to build or keep.
  • You feel uncertain about your career or personal goals.
  • You feel stuck about what comes next.
  • Stress, self-doubt, or time management make everyday life feel heavier than it should.
  • You spend a lot of time worrying or replaying interactions with others.
  • You alternate between periods of not enough sleep and napping for hours when you could have been doing other things.

How Therapy Can Help

My approach is empathic, relational, practical, and active. We’ll look at the patterns behind your thoughts, emotions, and behavior, and build skills you can use in real life. Depending on what fits you, I draw from:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to notice and interrupt unhelpful thought patterns
  • Somatic techniques to understand how stress shows up in your body and build your ability to tolerate those sensations
  • Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT / tapping) to ease distress in the moment
  • Solution-focused approaches to figure out the smallest action that can be taken today rather than “one day soon,” and developing communication skills to ask for what you want and deserve from personal and professional  relationships

Therapy or Coaching?

Therapy is for mental-health concerns such as anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, and relational difficulties. Things that are disrupting your ability to function each day. If you mainly want structured support with goals, planning, or follow-through, Life Coaching may be a better fit. I do not provide both to the same person.

Is This the Right Fit?

I work with adults aged 18 years and older. This may not be the best fit if you want therapy focused on children or teens, or intensive treatment for complex trauma.
